The Daphnes, a trio led by one of Seattle’s finest harpists, Monica Schley, includes Nate Omdal (bass); and Julie Baldridge (violin). Ms. Schley’s original compositions feature the harp’s intricacies in a modern light as well as her rich voice. This unconventional group draws sounds from neo-folkster M. Ward, vocal qualities of k.d. lang, jazz musicians Pharaoh Sanders and Alice Coltrane, and literary poet Anne Sexton.
Modern harp trio, The Daphnes, play mesmerizing compositions for strings and voice. Listen/Purchase the entire album on Bandcamp.
